RaspberryPi Home Alarm: building your smart alarm in a week

There was a time when I had no idea what to do with my RaspberryPi. I turned it into a connected, smart alarm for my apartment.
My alarm detects the unexpected presence of a stranger and instantly takes photos in burst mode. These photos are immediately saved to my Google Drive. i am notified of the intrusion into my apartment. The alarm can tell the difference between a stranger and an inhabitant of the apartment.
What surprised me the most was that it only took me a week, spending two hours each night, to create my alarm. I’ll show you how I progressed from the initial idea to the finished product. After this talk, I hope that every single one of you will be able to create this alarm in less than three hours.
