No doubt you’ve heard people talking about functional programming, but this programming paradigm might still seem like an abstract concept. And indeed, what are the reasons that could encourage you to put it into practice rather than sticking with tried-and-tested approaches? You’ll learn the answers to these questions in the workshop, progressively expanding to cover related concepts: immutability, pure functions, referential transparency and higher order functions, by evolving and refactoring a small, existing application. Everything is done in JavaScript which, while it may not be the the language that is most closely aligned with the paradigm, it is incontestably the most widespread due to its popularity.
