Automating Developer Environments

As an industry we’ve spent a lot of energy optimizing and automating every aspect of our Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery pipelines, however, when it comes to setting up your local development environment we’re still very much left with outdated READMEs, ad-hoc processes and manual tasks.

In this talk you’ll see why and how you can automate all of this using Docker, Make, and Bash. The talk is based on learnings from automating the entire development stack at Famly.co. I’ll share open-source code and best practices that you can use directly on your own projects.
