Have a look back at Global Challenge 2016!

  • Global Challenge
  • Like every year, Web2day comes to a close with the traditional announcement of the big winner of the Web2day Global Challenge. Return to the 2016 edition of the startups competition.

50 startups from across the globe have been selected to participate in the Web2day Global Challenge. People from Canada, Turkey, Belgium, Senegal, Portugal, Morocco, Italy, England, Benin, Gabon and Australia have all landed in Nantes to compete.

After an initial selection based on applications, the 50 startups were all divided into pools on Thursday 16th June (4 pools of 12) according to their fund-raising. To convince the judging panel to choose them in the final, they had 4 minutes to pitch and 3 minutes of questions/answers (all in English). At the end of a fierce competition, the 8 most talented startups (2 per pool) won their ticket for the final round.

    The 8 chosen finalists:

On Friday, the startups in the final round had the same format to convince a new judging panel made up of entrepreneurs and investors, and, most importantly, to fill the public with enthusiasm on the main stage.
